Hardly any successful creator account is run alone. Behind most stands an agency - a company that takes over management, marketing and fan communication so the model can focus on content. Anyone who wants to work in this industry (or, as a model, is looking for a partner) should understand how these companies operate.
What an agency takes over
- Strategy & management: positioning, content planning, pricing, growth targets - the account's roadmap.
- Marketing: social channels (Instagram, TikTok), ads, collaborations - the supply of new fans.
- Chatting: the team answering fan messages and selling around the clock - the revenue engine. What a chatter actually does, we explain separately.
- Operations: shift plans, handovers, CRM and tools, statistics, payouts.
The model brings content and personality; the agency brings time, systems and sales competence. Payment usually runs through a revenue share.
How such a team is structured
Typical roles in a creator agency:
- Management/owners: strategy, model relationships, business operations
- Chatting team lead: shift planning, quality control, escalations, onboarding
- Chatters: the operational backbone - usually most of the headcount
- Marketing/content: editorial planning, editing, social media
For newcomers, chatting is by far the most common entry point - accessible without formal education, fully remote and with a clear path towards team lead.
How to recognise a good agency
From a model's view and an applicant's view, similar criteria apply: transparent contracts and payouts, clear rules (minor protection, platform compliance, no deception schemes), reachable contacts and a proper public presence with an imprint. The applicant's red-flag list is in are chatter jobs legit?
An example of what such a presence looks like is Impulse Management - the creator agency from whose practice this course was built.
The way in
Agencies hire chatters continuously, because every new model grows the communication workload. The application path: cover note, interview, chat trial - and whoever presents a verifiable certificate skips the "can they actually do this?" doubt. That is exactly what Chatter Certified is built for.
